Where it honestly comes from
The form is Japanese — mono no aware — and it is not biblical. The idea is one of Scripture’s most insistent: Isaiah 40:6–8, Ecclesiastes 3:1, Psalm 90:12.
The rule that never bends
Always falling, never in bloom. A bare branch and petals mid-air. The red is thinned to a wash and it is never pink — pink breaks the palette and softens the point.
