Life As Of Late
A Curated List Of Recommendations And Some Food For Thought
It’s not always adventures, books, and cappuccinos (see what I did there, “abc” ;), but when it is, I believe it’s incredibly important to be fully present and embrace each moment for the brief seconds you have them.
As such, this week is a bit different, and rather than diving deep into some intellectual pursuit or another, I’ll share more about how life has been lately.
Perhaps you will find your next favorite article, book, song, or podcast, or a thought that won’t leave you alone. So without further ado, here is life as of late.

The Songs I Have On Repeat
-
Otro Atardecer, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio & The Marías: Nostalgia and memories of love. It’s ok, I know I’m a romantic.
-
Draw You Out, Noah Kahan: Those we love may be gone, but they live on in us.
-
How Good God Is, Brandon Lake: A beautiful reframe of life’s difficult moments and God’s fidelity through it all.
Quotes I Have Recently Fallen In Love With
-
“The struggle is a sign of holiness; a saint is a sinner who keeps trying.” - St. Josemaría Escrivá
-
“All sins are committed because we do not think of God as really present, but imagine Him as very far off.” - St. Teresa of Avila.
-
“Father, I am seeking: I am hesitant and uncertain, but will you, O God, watch over each step of mine and guide me?” - St. Augustine.
What I’ve Read (And I Think You Should Too)
-
Strangers, by Belle Burden: I recently learned I enjoy memoirs. Ms. Burden’s story is raw and honest; her sincerity in sharing the aftermath of her broken marriage is vulnerable and gripping. This is the story of a New York socialite whose life was turned upside down and then decided to fight for herself and her daughters.
-
What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, by Haruki Murakami: I read this book last year, and I still think about it regularly. Murakami is a legend in both the writing and running world; his perspective on life, literature, and lyricism is quite worth adding to your arsenal.
-
Unreasonable Hospitality, Will Guidara: If you’ve read Atomic Habits, then this should be your next step in leveling up your business sense. It will also give you some serious food for thought on how to be a better, more generous human being.
My Current Favorite Substack Articles
Thank you amber., sofia falck and Tim Denning.

A Single Question For You, My Dearest Human
- Who Are You? I don’t mean this in a superficial sense, but when you strip away the job, the school, the diets, and the workout routines, who is the person standing in front of you? Who is the one looking back at you in the mirror? If you don’t know, how do you expect anyone else to?
It’s time to get back to the adventures, books, and cappuccinos.
